Privacy Policy

Sacred Silence is built on a single principle: your worship is private. The app silences your phone using your device's own location hardware — no server ever receives your location, your identity, or your habits.

What we collect

Sacred Silence collects as little as possible to function. Here is everything:

Location data — processed entirely on your device to detect when you enter or leave a sacred place. Your location is never transmitted to any server, stored in any cloud, or shared with any third party.
Anonymous app identifier — a randomly generated ID (e.g. $RCAnonymousID:abc123…) created by RevenueCat to manage your subscription. This ID is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or any other identifier. It exists solely to confirm whether a subscription is active.
Crash and diagnostic data — if the app crashes, Sentry captures the error stack trace and the type of device and OS version involved. No personal data, no location, no user content is included in crash reports.

What we do not collect

No name, email address, or phone number
No advertising identifier (IDFA / GAID) — ATT is never requested
No prayer times, faith preferences, or worship history sent off-device
No contacts, messages, call logs, or microphone access
No analytics beyond crash reports
No third-party advertising or tracking SDKs — ever

How location works

Sacred Silence uses your device's OS-level geofencing to detect when you enter or leave a saved sacred place. This happens entirely on your device using Apple's Core Location (iOS) or Android's Geofencing API. The coordinates you save are stored in your device's local storage only.

Background location access is required so the app can silence your phone even when it is not open. Without it, the app cannot fulfil its core function.

Subscriptions (RevenueCat)

Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) directly. Sacred Silence never sees your payment details. RevenueCat receives only the anonymous identifier described above to verify entitlement status. No personal information is shared with RevenueCat.

Crash reporting (Sentry)

When the app crashes, an error report is sent to Sentry containing the stack trace, device type (e.g. "iPhone 15"), and OS version. No location data, no user content, and no identifiers are included. Sentry's privacy policy: sentry.io/privacy

Debug access (family & testers)

The app contains a hidden debug screen (accessed by tapping the version number 7 times in Settings) that displays your anonymous RevenueCat ID and allows you to send a Premium Access request to the developer by email. If you use this feature, your email client will pre-fill a message containing: your anonymous RC ID, your device platform, OS version, and app version. This data is sent directly from your email client — Sacred Silence does not transmit it.

Map data

Location search uses the OpenStreetMap Overpass API to find nearby sacred places. Queries include only a geographic bounding box — no user identifier is sent. Map display uses Apple Maps (iOS) and Google Maps (Android) under their respective terms. Location data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL).

Data retention & deletion

All app data — saved places, settings, analytics history — is stored only on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes it permanently. The in-app Silent Analytics screen includes a "Clear all data" option that wipes your analytics history immediately.

The anonymous RevenueCat identifier persists in RevenueCat's systems for as long as your subscription is active. Contact support@quietleverage.guide to request deletion.

Children

Sacred Silence is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, the updated date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
